Weight gain/water retention
« on: January 25, 2015, 10:15:43 PM »
I am 7 months post donation.  I have now gained 21 pounds in 3 months.  At first I was attributing this to a lack of energy.  I was very active before.  I still exercise but not as intensely now.  I am exhausted.  Have not changed my eating.  Recently I have noticed my socks are leaving marks on my ankles.  My feet and calves feel like they could explode.  Has anyone had these problems and did they go away.  Is the weight gain temporary?

I did not have that problem myself. I'm not a medical professional, but it sounds to me that with that much swelling of the lower limbs plus weight gain you should see a doctor and check it out.
Please let us know how things work out.
          best wishes,
   Fr. Pat

Dear beagle lover,

I had no problems like that at all.
Combined with your prior message concerning fatigue, I agree you should get a physical exam.
Let us know what you find out.

love, elephant
