Abdomen issue 4 months post kidney donation
« on: August 28, 2018, 10:21:53 AM »
A very close friend of mine donated his kidney to his brother about four months back. All is going well but about three weeks his hand struck his belly close to the belly button (he had his left kidney removed in an open surgery not laparoscopic). Since he has been feeling mild pain only when he stretches or when his belly moves. He also says that he feels something moving inside when his belly moves which is not painful but is irritating. Anyone here has any idea what this is or is there anyone who had a similar experience?

You might want to post this also at the FaceBook page of Living Donors on Line, as these days many more donors check in there.

Dear Curious,

Yes, my kidney hole had some uncomfortable slithery feelings for a while.  Eventually other stuff filled in the space and I forgot about it.  Gentle stretching may help.  Love, elephant
