Title: Travel insurance
Post by: IrishMarty on April 05, 2011, 09:23:52 AM
Hey guys post ing here has been a last resort. Lets hope someone reading this can offer some advice. Its really got beyond frustrating now..

Simply in May I am going to Australia on a one year visa. Now sometime at the end of the year I shall be returning for a 6 week period to donate a kidney to my dad. I have already been approved, its just a matter of waiting for his body to be ready to recieve a kidney. Long story short because the these facts no one will insure for my period of stay in australia.Well no one i have tried....

Anyone been in or no of any one else that has experienced similiar difficulties?

Many thanks

Marty

You may have tried these two companies already.  If you are healthy there is no reason to disclose you are going to donate a kidney.  It's not a pre-existing condition and you haven't been treated for any disease.

You could also ask to be insured with an exclusion for any complication arising from the donation.  I know American companies will do that.

Good luck!
