Although it is 7am on a Saturday I am trying to get information to get the ball rolling on becoming a living donor for a buddy. What do I do? Is it appropriate to post my phone number for someone to call me? Hmm. Well, I'll give it a shot. Anyone with verifiable information please give me a ring. [redacted]

I have 3 friends (all of us college educated) trying to figure out the definitive next step and none of us can make heads or tails out of the site. Lots of info but no clear path to follow.

Thanks Michael for that link. I too am trying to get more involved here in omaha, Nebraska and hopefully make an impact by getting a few people to register.

Ask your buddy who needs the transplant which hospital is handling his case. Then contact the "transplant coordinator" at THAT hospital.

I agree with Fr. Pat,
You would first need to contact your buddy's transplant coordinator to get started.
That person will guide you step by step.
Best of Luck,

Sorry, I misunderstood your original question (I didn't read carefully enough). As others said, the next step for you is to contact your friend's doctor and let the doctor know you're interested in being considered for donation. If you friend is eligible for a transplant, you can be tested for compatibility.
Information on testing, surgery, and after care can be found on the LDO web site, along with donor buddies and stories shared by living donors about their experiences.
Hope this helps!
