Title: Living Kidney Donor Survery
Post by: ars0168 on April 25, 2011, 09:02:21 AM
Hello fellow kidney donors!

I am proud to be part of a group of living kidney donors whom, collaboratively, have created a survey in the link below. We're hoping that this is the beginning of what might someday become a much larger project that will identify the challenges that some living kidney donors face and how we might find solutions to these. We're hoping you might take a few minutes of your time to complete the survey - it's very short and direct.

The purpose of this survey is to find out how living donors prioritize possible financial assistance for items such as travel, lost wages, childcare and medical care, post-donation. Your answers will be treated in confidence and will help to plan discussions with transplant programs, legislators, HRSA and insurance carriers. This survey should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

PLEASE take a moment to forward this email to any living kidney donor that you might know. Our goal is to collect a total of 300 completed surveys by April 30, 2011. We encourage you to share this link on your blogs, social media sites, or emails.

We thank you for your time and consideration and we look forward to hearing from you!

Please click on the following link to direct you to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LivingDonor

Dear Angela,

Shout out to Schenectady!  Shenendehowa grad here.  Good, quick, focussed survey.  What "group of living kidney donors" are you part of?  What are your advocacy plans?  Thanks!

Hello Clark!  I'm a Niskayuna grad. Happy to meet a local on here, and I hope you can complete the survey.

Thank you,
Angela

Presumably you are only interested in US donors.....?

I have been off-LDO for a long time due to (temporary) workload in my position -- (in my "retirement," no less!).  I hope it is not too late to do your survey.

Clark also asked my question:  who is the "group" that you are helping to do the survey, and who else is in it?

Thanks,

Bill

Nice short survey.  The last question about being diagnosed as CKD threw me.    The levels (creatin) from the lab always come back as CKD.  Seems like if you're a donor that this isn't really true.  My remaining kidney is healthy (actually the other one in my brother is too) so why should it be diagnosed this way?

Any opinions?

Thanks
