Title: At-Home Georgetown University Research Study - LOOKING FOR NON-DIRECTED DONORS
Post by: LivingDonorStudy on April 10, 2016, 03:07:23 PM
HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED TO DONATE A KIDNEY TO A STRANGER?

Georgetown University is looking for adults who have volunteered to donate a kidney to a stranger to participate in an at home research study!

The overall goal of this research is to better understand the processes that underlie different kinds of social behaviors and decision-making.  In this study, we are particularly interested in the processes that underlie kidney donation.  So we are inviting people who are non-directed kidney donors to participate in a study that can be completed from home at your convenience.

For this specific study, we are collecting saliva samples from participants.  This enables us to test whether variations in human DNA (called polymorphisms) correspond to variations in certain types of behaviors. We hope that this information will help us better understand the roots of variation in human thought and behavior.

The first stage involves completing an online survey that contains several short questionnaires.  Then we will mail you a kit to provide a saliva specimen for testing plus the materials to mail it back. We anticipate that participation in this portion will take about 70 minutes of your time (60 minutes for the online survey & 10 minutes for the saliva sample). We will compensate you $30 for your time and assistance via Paypal or Amazon.com electronic gift card.

If you would be interested learning more about this study, we would be delighted! Please contact us at livingdonorstudy@georgetown.edu or call us at 202-687-6853. Please indicate that you are interested in the at-home portion of the living donor study (genotyping).

Please be more specific about the relationship characteristics that you do and don't want. Your headline asks for those who've donated to, or are considering donating to strangers. In the body of your text, you say non-directed donors. Which is it? Thanks.
