Title: Is glucosamine safe for donors?
Post by: ohtobeahayes on March 01, 2011, 09:20:39 PM
There's not much info out there on the web.  'Course I only tried for 5 minutes or so. If it doesn't come right up, I come running to my board of knowers.  :)

My knees HURT!  Man, I had to work really hard for those 4 miles! I'd love to be able to have some glucosamine again.

Side note: got latest results back from the kidney study.  GFR is 71.  YAY! Go Righty!

Thank you!!!

My husband's nephrologist approved glucosamine while he was still on dialysis, so yes, I believe it to be safe for donors. Of course, it's always good to keep your doctor informed about all the OTCs you take.

Just make sure to give the glucosamine plenty of time to start working before you expect benefits. At least a month, in my experience.
