Hi everyone! Yep, sitting up and typing now.
The Marburg is awesome.  What I miss most is food. I'm STARVING.
I'm also so happy  I could explode right now. Just need to take it easy but YES! I am in the the club now.
And I love all of you for your advice and support.

Wow! And here I was about to post how alert he is & he's posting on his own! I was so out of it at this point! :D So glad you're doing so well Julian! Now take it easy & no food for a while....if you're really nice maybe Kristie or Dan (he was my night nurse & is also on duty) will give you some ice chips in a while!

Welcome to the club!

Hey Julian,

We were talking behind your back. Welcome to the club! Glad to hear you are awake and with it enough to type. Very impressive! I will try to stop by tomorrow afternoon. Take it easy. They will feed you soon. Go slow. Walk around the pretty hallways and admire all the beautiful furniture in Marburg. So glad all went well. Nice to be on the other side huh?

I am recovering really well and I was so happy to meet Sherri!
Pain pump is gone, catheter is gone  ;D , and I am starting on fruit juices.
I feel really good all things considered.

Great to hear!  Sounds like you are moving right along.  Did you get to get up and walk today?  Hope that went well.  Everytime you walk it will get a little better.

Sherri's great and is wonderful about visiting local donors!

Have a great afternoon; you should be getting to try some of the actual food.  Marburg will pretty much fix you anything you want.  It is much better than regular hospital food.

Julian,

It was an honor to personally welcome you into the donor club. You are looking great and right on track for recuperation. You have a sense of peace about you that is so inspiring. Now you are a veteran and can pass along the support to the next person in line.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. I always like to hear how our "regulars" are doing. There is something special about the transplant family.

All the best,

Sherri

Sherri, you are a dear and I'm a monster advocate for this. I just feel as if I have entered into something special and I can't describe or explain it. Nor can I explain the love and admiration I have for my recipient and the spectacular friends I have made here.

I jokingly refer to it as "uv ajed" or "deja vu" backwards. Some place I have NEVER been before. I love it all and I am glad I am here. Much love to you, all of you.

What's even more amazing is that I had no idea who my recipient was but I know now and everyone on Facebook is meeting her at the same time I am. Feel free to come on over and friend me if you like. (worldcyclist@gmail.com)

Looks like I get discharged today. My health is coming back at a GREAT pace and all things considered I feel REALLY good. The kidney is working in my recipient extremely well also. It's like every Christmas all in one week. :-)

So far it's 12 days out. I can finally sleep on my sides now (for the most part). Don't need the oxycodone anymore thank heavens. That stuff screwed with my sleep something tremendous. Making good friends with Tylenol. I don't think my appetite suffered for one second though.

Hi Julian,

Glad to hear you are on the mend. did you have your follow up visit yet? I remember you posting about an elevated ALT (liver function test) andI was wondering what ever happened with that? Did it go down back to baseline post donation? Hope you get good results at your follow up. Continue in your recovery and enjoy the time off.
