Title: 2 year donation anniversary
Post by: CK on January 25, 2014, 12:18:43 PM
My two year anniversary is January 31st.  It's hard to believe that it's been two years; at the same time, it feels like it's been 10.

My recipient and I are both doing well: he has had absolutely NO complications, not even the hint of a rejection episode or any other issues.  He was even allowed to become a volunteer firefighter and can do anything the normal-kidneyed firefighters can do!

I am also healthy with no problems at all.  We got married last summer and I would certainly do the donation all over again.  I found it to be fairly painless and the recovery easy.

Congratulations! Happy "Kidneyversary"!

(For some odd reason my "spell-check" does NOT like "kidneyversary".)

Many years of health and happiness to you and your spouse and your kidney twin!

I had my two year follow-up at the transplant clinic and my blood work was fantastic.  My creatinine was .9! Not bad for one kidney. :)
