After my surgery 4 years ago, I wrote a book about my experience. It's available on Amazon.com and is titled Donor Girl. If anyone feels they need to read a story from start to finish...from a type A/hypochondriac...lol...have at it. If you feel you need it and can't afford it, hit me up on email and I'll help you out.
Thanks.

Yes, it really is a great book. And funny, too.

Hi Lee - I read your book early in my testing phase and it was so helpful. It made me realize I was not alone with all the fears and doubts I was having! I was also a BIG question-asker and I can't tell you how glad I was to be prepared. I am now 6 weeks post-surgery...feels SO good to be on the other side and feeling great.
Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you both for reading it!! I'm glad it helped you Julie. 6 weeks? I remember the 6 week mark. I was starting to feel like my old self again. How are you feeling? Kudos to you for making this life saving decision.
Snoopy - glad it made you laugh! :-)

Hi Lee,
Maybe I will get a chance to read your book. I also saw somewhere about a book to be out this fall about non directed donors. I hope to get a chance to read it as well. I have been wondering if there are any trends or patterns or if its "all over the map". Rob Halverson

Is this book available anywhere else besides Amazon.com? I would love to have a copy to read but would prefer not to purchase from amazon (long story)

Hi Lee - It is amazing that at 6 weeks I feel almost back to normal. The only thing that stands out is I do get tired more easily throughout the day...and when I get tired it is pretty intense. My biggest issue for 2 weeks post-ops was nausea and I was not re-absorbing the leftover free air from the CO2 so besides the nausea I continued to have the shoulder and chest discomfort. Seems like a long time ago now!
Thanks!

Your local independent bookstore

Thanks Fr. Pat. I wasn't aware it was on Barnes and Noble's site.

Y'all,
I do not know why of my post was lined out. I must have done something, but what? Anyway, hopefully this time it will be readable.
