We will implement the new OPTN kidney allocation system (KAS) on Thursday, December 4, 2014. At that time, the way you run matches for kidneys in DonorNet will change.  OPOs can prepare for the new system by becoming aware of the key system and policy changes that most closely affect them.
The KDPI will drive the new allocation system
The new kidney allocation system has four different allocation sequences. These sequences depend on the Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI) of the donor, which is based on the latest information entered into DonorNet before running the match.  Read the new policy language that will take effect on December 4th . It describes these four allocation sequences in detail.
