The proposed change would also increase priority for pediatric patients and for prior living donors who now need a transplant. Aside from these changes, kidneys will still be matched with patients according to current criteria.
Is there any documentation on how many prior living donors have gone on to need a kidney (since they have been collecting data), how long they waited and outcomes. It has been discussed that living donors earn an extra 4 points in the allocation system which puts them higher on the list. how does this effect that?
