My brother took my kidney to Hawaii!
« on: April 25, 2012, 11:18:08 AM »
Isn't it wonderful!   Just four months after our surgery, and my brother can enjoy a vacation in Hawaii with his wife, kids and granddaughter...and, yes...I was invited but had other things going on.  Life is good!

It is wonderful! My recipient feels better than he's felt in 10 years. It's nice to watch and amazing how easy it was for him.

So nice to read positive reports of healing of both donar and recipient.  I hope Mom and I have the same expirences.  She is already talking about the vacation she will take after dialysis (and the food she can eat when she arrives.

My recipient and I walked about 40 blocks through Manhattan 7 weeks after surgery and felt great. He was never on dialysis but he can eat stuff now that he had to limit when his kidneys were failing, and he has energy again.

I hope it goes well for you and your Mom. Best wishes. :)

Good question, Scott!  My other kidney is NOT jealous, because it got to go to Paris and Dublin one month after surgery.   It really enjoyed the French wine and Irish beer~
