Has anyone experienced hormone problems since donation?
« on: August 23, 2012, 12:19:08 AM »
I have had difficulties with maintaining a proper hormone balance since donating my left kidney. I had already been on hormone injection shots and WAS doing very well on them. But, months after my donation things changed and my balance was no longer in the normal range. Wondering if anyone has any any info regarding this. Thanks.

Just to share what I have learned from past postings here: even though the adrenal gland near the donated kidney is usually not removed during donation surgery, the surgical changes in the blood vessels can badly effect the ability of that adrenal gland to deliver its hormones to the bloodstream.
