Hi everyone!
Question:
Is it necessary to have a completely healthy kidneys to donate?
As for me I have full doubling of both kidneys and a small cyst in the kidney.
For this time I don't know about the exact functionality of my "extra" kidneys but knew they have own ureters and pelvises.
Our doctors told me I'm not a “renal” healthy person.
Anyway I'm  looking for a country,for a doctors who could help us.
Mayby someone from here can tell me more.

In order to donate a kidney:
--- the donated kidney must be in good enough condition to take care of the renal needs of the recipient on a long-term basis.
--- the remaining kidney must be in good enough condition to take care of the renal needs of the donor for the rest of his/her life.
--- the donor must be free of conditions which would threaten the health of the remaining kidney.
          If I understand your letter correctly, you are one of the small minority of persons who are born with more than two kidneys. In that case only your doctors there can evaluate the health and function of those kidneys and determine if it is possible or not to safely donate. As such cases are not common, it is possible that the doctors do not honestly know the answer. Most of us here are not medical professionals, so we really don't have much informed advice that we can give you.

Here such a problem:our doctors told me do not evaluate myself coz' it will be hard to make a surgery with such diagnosis.Of course,I understand that I need to evaluate my kidneys here in Ukraine and I'm in processing but with any help from doctors (transplantologists).

For example:I was on nephrologist consultation and she said just "Don't do it"-I asked why:
You're too young (I'm 25) and so pretty!Is it an answer from specialist??
Actually I have a lot of similar answers,unfortunately.


So now I want to contact a clinic from other country and try to find the answers for my questions.
I know some hospitals accept the results and tests through the internet.

It will be easier if someone will write me some  "known" hospitals addresses or maybe the clinics where they did transplantation.

P.S. Hope to find the person with the same diagnosis here
