Survey for Living Donors
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:34:46 PM »
Dear Living Donors,

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and MetroHealth Medical Center, in partnership with the American Society of Transplantation (AST), have developed a survey to find out more about the needs of living kidney donors.

We are asking individuals who have donated a kidney in the United States to participate in the survey. The purpose of this survey is to ask you to share your opinions with us so that we can better understand the needs of living organ donors. We hope to learn more about your experience as a living organ donor: what went well and what can be done to improve the experience of future living organ donors.

The survey will take between 20 to 40 minutes depending upon how much information you want to share.

For more information or to take the survey, please visit: www.surveymonkey.com/s/NKFDonorAfterCareSurvey

Thank you,

Jennifer Martin

I tried to complete it, but I donated only 2 weeks ago, and there was no option for "2012" as the year of donation. Don't know if that was an oversight or you'd rather have people who donated longer than a couple months ago complete it...

I just completed the survey. It seems to be very well done and thorough. I was, however, a bit disappointed that they were searching only for NEGATIVE consequences (and told them so). I myself feel that I have had marvelous psychological and social benefits from donating, but they only asked about sadness, depression and isolation. I judge myself as having ended up "better than normal" (for me) rather than "back to normal".
I do think it would be great for all donors to take the survey. there are plenty of spaces in it where you can add whatever you like, apart from answering the questions.

As living donors, we often request more research. This is our chance to act on that request. Please participate!

I donated in Israel. Would my participation still be helpful?
