Education on the new kidney allocation system is a focus for 2014

This year implementation of the new Kidney Allocation System (KAS) is a priority for UNOS. In preparation, professional education materials, events, and presentations will be provided.  These resources include tools to educate patients, staff, and transplant providers on the new system. Please mark your calendars for these upcoming events.
Winter 2014
January 21, 2014: Update on Kidney Allocation – AST webinar*   January 30, 2014: (release of pre-recorded podcast) The New Kidney Allocation System: What Does it Mean for Providers?
January 31, 2014: Release of recorded presentation for transplant hospitals to use to instruct physicians who refer kidney patients for transplant about the new kidney allocation system   February 27, 2014: (release of pre-recorded webinar) The New Kidney Allocation System: Basic Preparations
Spring 2014
March 25, 2014: (live Town Hall-style Q&A webinar) The New Kidney Allocation System: Basic Preparations Follow-up   April 24, 2014: (live webinar) The New Kidney Allocation System: Resources for Creating Protocols and Processes
May 2014: UNetSM system training related to data entry of elements specific to KAS   
Fall 2014
September 2014: e-learning module for use by transplant hospitals to educate staff and patients about the new Kidney Allocation System   October 2014: (live Town Hall webinar) The New Kidney Allocation System: Town Hall Question and Answer Session
December 2014: UNetSM system training for implementation of the new KAS
