Donation Complete
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:31:02 PM »
I have officially donated my left kidney to my older sister on February 29th.  So glad to have made it through that first week.  I was in the hospital for six days.  Every time I was about to be discharged, I would start with the vomiting again.  I am still very sore, but it does seem to get easier everyday.  My sister is accepting my kidney very well and it is so good to see her so happy.
Heather.

Congratulations. It's been very gratifying for me to watch my recipient improve. After 5 weeks, he already feels like a new man...they are starting to take him off of blood pressure meds and his creatinine is at 1.4.

It's pretty amazing to see. So your sister will get even happier!  :)

Oh Heather, I hope you are doing better soon.  I had a tough start in my recovery as well and it is still vivid, but, it will pass and seeing your sister blossom will make it all worth it.  Best wishes.

It's hard for me to imagine vomiting after surgery - sneezing and coughing were barely tolerable for a while!

So glad to hear the new donors are all recovering.  It is very important to reach out to each other during your recovery.  I was greatful to have joselyn to talk to.

I "spit up" twice.  Once when my husband hit the pain pump and after burping.
