Meeting My recipient
« on: January 18, 2013, 10:43:25 PM »
I was a non-directed donor through NKR this past September.  My recipient contacted me through UCSF shortly ythereafter and we have gotten to knew each other over the internet.  It is quite a story.  Anyway, I am going down to San Diego for a conference.  While I am there, we're going to meet up.  I am looking forward to it. Maybe our kidneys will get a chance to filter a glass of wine with dinner.  :)

Dear Giants,

I hope your trip and meeting with your recipient are both good.  I'll be looking forward to hearing about it.  Are you at all nervous?

Love, elephant

Not nervous.  Just hoping to find him in good health.  What a privilege in every way!   Just to be able to give.  It's humbling.

That's very exciting! It was incredible meeting my recipient, though we met the day before our surgeries instead of after. It is such a great thing to see your recipient doing well after the transplant. Congratulations!
