HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED TO DONATE A KIDNEY TO A STRANGER?

You may be eligible to participate in research if you: are 18 - 55 years old, have volunteered to donate a kidney to someone you do not know (someone who was not a friend or relative before the donation), and are medically healthy. (If you are over the age of 55, we have several online studies that you would be eligible for to complete from home at your convenience. If interested in these studies, please send us an email or give us a call. )

Georgetown University researchers in the Laboratory on Social and Affective Neuroscience are seeking adults who have volunteered to donate a kidney to a stranger to participate in a research study in Washington DC. Participation may include online surveys, paper-pencil questionnaires, computer tasks, brain imaging using MRI scans, and psychological interviews.

Qualified participants may be paid $20 for an initial screening and $150 for laboratory testing that includes computer tasks and a brain scan. Travel to Georgetown University for qualified participants will be scheduled at your convenience, and all travel expenses will be covered by the researchers. Covered travel expenses include the cost of a flight to Washington, DC, 2 nights stay in a hotel, 1 meal, and other expenses (e.g., cabs, airport parking, baggage fees). We are hoping to complete testing by February 2016.

Additionally, if you are unable to make the trip to DC to participate in our on-campus study, we have several online studies that you can complete from home at your convenience. Please contact us and let us know if you're interested in only these online studies.
