New KPD associate disclosure agreement is available to help with financial issues

A new resource is available to provide transplant centers working together in kidney paired donation (KPD) with a universal contract for exchanging patient information. The KPD Associate Disclosure Agreement should make it easier for matched transplant centers to handle financial issues with their patients.
The template was designed by the KPD Finance Subcommittee. Transplant centers can sign it as part of participation in the OPTN/UNOS KPD Pilot Program. It will allow hospitals to handle billing and payment of donor nephrectomy charges without having to create a contract for each match with a new center.
How it works: complete the form, sign it and return to UNOS at kidneypaireddonation@unos.org. We will keep a copy of each agreement and send to centers in the Exchange Accepted email when an exchange they are participating in has been accepted by all centers.
Where to find it: go to Transplant Pro > I am looking for > Kidney Paired Donation; look for it in Financial Recommendations.
