Disappointing news
« on: December 02, 2013, 04:35:33 PM »
Hi All

I got the call today from Barnes Jewish in STL that my GFR was at 80% and therefore I will not be a good candidate for my uncle. However in speaking with my aunt (who is a dr) and my BIL (who is a kidney doc), they all say for my age (48), that it's not a show stopper - that if my uncle (age 56) and I are both willing to take the risks, we can still move forward with the transplant - assuming the transplant team will approve it.

has anyone else had a GFR of 80 and went thru with the transplant?
