I gave my brother a kidney two years ago today.  Delighted to report that we are both in good health and enjoying life.  This experience brought us much closer together.  He jokes that now, he can't go anywhere without me, and I usually respond that he is not providing me with much of a view.  He and his wife have traveled to the South Pacific a couple of times, enjoy spending a lot of time with their grandchild, and I continue to work part time and travel as much as possible.  One of the things he did after recovering from the transplant was start up his vegetable garden again, and he added a peach tree.
He is 67 and I am 63, so we are right up there with you Bill and Oldnslow!
Cheers to everyone and a happy holiday season!!!

Oldnslow

That is great news jatopa!  I would say it had that effect for us as well.  We golf together regularly in the summer.    Did not really change our games much though
