Recommended creatinine test
« on: December 02, 2014, 01:01:25 PM »
Hi folks!
I became an altruistic donor three years ago and in taking charge of my health, I am planning regular creatinine tests to stay on top of my remaining kidney function. I'm not sure which kind to schedule though. I see several creatinine tests on LabCorp and Quest Diagnostic sites.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks!
Julian

On my lab sheet the doctor has checked Renal Function.  I think a doctor has to order it.  If you don't have a nephrologist this might be the time to establish a relationship.

My Primary Care Physician has me do blood work to test renal function (among other things) at least twice a year.  I don't need a nephrologist unless there are problems, which so far, there have not been...my creatinine has been at .9 for quite some time.
