Post-Donation Creatinine
« on: November 17, 2015, 09:14:51 PM »
So I just got back from my two months post-op ... my fist time seeing the surgeon since the operation as the previous appointment was cancelled. It was all very rushed, which I was a bit annoyed at. He was about to leave and I asked what my blood test results were. From what I could understand, creatinine went from .67 (I presume pre-donation) to .97 (possibly the blood they took at the hospital post-surgery) and now it is at .91. I understand that this falls in the "normal" range but I was wondering if the levels usually go down over several months before reaching a more stable levels.

Thanks

Dear rkem,

Mine continued to fall slightly for a couple of years.  The remaining kidney enlarges a bit.

love, elephant

Mine took a couple of years before settling at a lower number.
