A young Leicestershire woman who has only half a working kidney says she has been given the chance of a new life by her grandmother.

Alex Ralphs from Coalville underwent a transplant two years ago which failed but she said her 61-year-old grandmother has been confirmed as a suitable match for a transplant.

The operation is due to take place in October at Nottingham City Hospital.
