That's the headline for this meeting: No anticipated increase in fees for would be recipients to register with the OPTN this coming year.

-> Depends on transient and long term impact of the new Kidney Allocation System on number of registrants.

-> 12/4/14 still holding as start date for new KAS. Multiple IT projects also recently completed after long backlog.

-> ACOT hasn't met in over a year. Secretary of HHS has changed in the meantime. Next meeting is a conference call in December.

-> New emergency and housekeeping OPTN policy adoption pathways discussed and passed with several suggestions for improvement.

-> 5 living donor organs not used this past year. Patient Safety Committee has identified this as a top priority to address.

->  Defining "transplant hospital" turns out to be hard. Region 1 not satisfied with MPSC's proposal.

-> Way behind on agenda as we break for lunch. Group is unusually discursive today, and this group always chews every issue thoroughly.

-> Pancreas policy nearing adoption. Interesting side effect, it's forcing definition of graft failure on the OPTN. Region 1 says one size does not fit all, this needs to be organ specific at least.

-> Note that the KPD Informed Consent Policy proposal applies to all KPD programs, not just OPTN KPDPP participants! NKR, within hospital programs, all swaps and chains!

-> HRSA Workplace Partnership for Life initiative to bring OPOs and transplant centers into a big set of national institutional partners to solicit donor registrations, especially to foster "a culture of donation" within hospitals.
