Hi all, glad I found this forum.  2 1/2 weeks ago I donated my left kidney to my 10 year old daughter's best friend's father.  I'm reaching out looking for some insight as to why my stomach seems to be much higher and is very uncomfortable when full.  Also when I take a deep breath it feels like my lungs are not expanding at their lowest point.  It's as if everything around the kidney area has been pushed up.  When will these feelings go away?  My stomach is very uncomfortable, everything else is great.

Hi! Don't worry, is normal. I donated to my husband almost 3 months ago and at the beginning my stomach also hurt for some time.  The place where your kidney was will be filled with "other things" that are inside you...You will be ok, try to walk...it will help you. 2 weeks is so little time....
Now, after 3 months i also have low back pains, but we just have to give ourselves more time. They told me that you are completly recovered 6 months after surgery.
Sorry for my english, i am from Madrid, Spain.
I wish you all the best!!

You might want to also post your question at the FaceBook page of "Living Donors on Line" as these days more donors check in there rather than here.

I donated about 2 1/2 years ago and I remember feeling similar pain in the first few weeks. I remember feeling full and or bloated with anything I ate.

Recovery does take time so just take it slow and be patient.
