I've been reading through the forum for a couple months now but decided today to open an account and make my first post.   

I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.  I am donating a kidney (in a swap) on behalf of my husband.   He was diagnosed acute failure in December and ESRD in March.   

I'm excited and yet feeling a bit nervous now that it's so close.  Just wanted to share and introduce myself.   

I'm sure that the Facebook route has more responses but I'm not on Facebook anymore.

Thank you Michael and Sherry.  I am in Houston Texas area and feel very lucky to be here in a place with some of the best hospitals in the nation.  I love our doctors and the team at the hospital.   

My parents, siblings, mother in law and sister in law all live very close.  And I have an aunt from out of town who will be coming in to help us after surgery.   My support system is an amazing set of family in addition to friends.   

I'm ready for Tuesday!!!
