My 16 year old son wants to donate kidney to his cousin...

My son offered to donate kidney to his cousin who has goodpastures...do they consider this at his age

Dear Murphy,

It is quite rare for a child to donate a kidney.   I do believe there have been some donations between identical twins. 
Although living donors can be accepted at age 18, I would suggest seeking a more mature donor.  You can tell you son that sometimes a second transplant is needed at a later date, and he could offer again when he is older.
