Woman selflessly gives kidney to friend
By Leigh Kelley

Lois Gordon and Debbie Caudle are lifelong friends who have been there for one another through everything — the loss of each other's parents, the death of Debbie's first husband, a job loss. When Lois's kidneys began to fail earlier this year, Debbie knew what she had to do.

On Sept. 8, Debbie gave one of her kidneys to her friend, sparing Lois from dialysis and saving her life.

"I thought, she's hurt her whole life and she's given me so many things growing up and has been there for me my entire life," Debbie said. "What kind of friend would I be if I didn't do this for her?"
