What programs will allow me to donate an organ at age 18?
How do I find out blood type without donating blood?
Interested in being a donor!

Fr Pat

Since you have interest in possibly becoming a living organ donor, starting to donate blood now might be a good idea for two reasons:
--- to find out your blood type (for free!)
--- to get some experience now of being interviewed, screened and stuck with needles (which you will have a LOT of if you continue toward organ donation.
Do you have some problem with the idea of giving blood?
               FR. Pat

No, I have grown up in a medical atmosphere. The only problem is I am very short so it requires my weight limit to go up and lets just say I am naturally a small built person. Thank you for your reply, it means a lot to me!

A place to start learning about what it takes to become a living donor is this LDO web page: https://livingdonorsonline.org/general.htm

As far as blood typing, you can go to your doctor or a general test center/lab and request blood typing. As Fr. Pat suggests, a great way to find out your blood type is to donate blood.

Best of luck!
Michael
