Arlington native needs organ donor

Maureen tested to be a donor, but the tests discovered she has kidney stones, so donating was not an option. Joanne, a cancer survivor, can’t donate; nor can Richard, whose blood type is incompatible with Tim’s type O. Other health issues and donor rules prevent Tim’s remaining family members from donating.
Rhoda Schneider, a New York resident who donated one of her own kidneys to her husband 14 years ago, volunteers to help people in need of a living donor, helping to raise awareness of their need, explaining how to navigate the health care systems, and generally being a guide through the process.
Maureen and Rhoda connected through the website Living Donors Online!, and Rhoda took up Tim’s cause. The team of family and friends that Rhoda organized have set up a Facebook page for Tim, posted flyers around town and organized a Zumbathon on June 21 to raise awareness and money to defray any out-of-pocket costs the donor may face (the cost of the transplant would be covered by Tim's insurance). Rhoda even suggested that the mobile hot dog cart Tim and his son Patrick had built be used to raise awareness.
