MrDavid

I had my donation done via the key hole method, I wanted to ask some questions regarding the care of the scars and other things.

17 days out now, scars are healed up fine. I noticed however under the three small incisions I have hard lumps under them? Is this likely to be a hernia or scar tissue? Or something else? How can I tell what it is?

Also after a month or so is it worth massaging the area to make the scar flat? Or will it just go naturally?

Thanks

Dear MrDavid,

Hooray for your quick recovery.

I had a few stitches that took a while to dissolve.  One or two eventually worked to the surface and I was able to pull them out (eeeeew).  These made quite small lumps.

The main incision was enlarged for some months, but now I have to look for it.  I didn't do anything with the scars, they just vanished.  But it took a long time.

If you have any concerns or pain, consult your doctor.   Shouldn't you be going for a follow up appointment at the hospital where you donated?

Love, elephant
